Family First Haven is led by Dr. Tamara Newman, a compassionate administrator whose leadership is rooted in service, structure, and deep respect for family. She is dedicated to creating environments where people feel supported, valued, and treated with dignity — the same way she cared for her own mother.
Dr. Newman brings together scientific training, organizational leadership, and strategic business expertise. She earned her Doctorate in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California (USC), focusing on building systems that truly work for people and ensure consistent, high-quality care.
Her educational journey began at Oakwood University, a Historically Black College/University (HBCU), where she studied biochemistry and embraced lifelong values of service, integrity, unity, and community uplift. She later earned an MBA from Florida International University, strengthening her abilities in operations, financial stewardship, and strategic decision-making.
Dr. Newman has also participated in mission work abroad and continues to volunteer locally, reflecting her belief that leadership is demonstrated through action and compassion. She views every resident as an extension of her own family and leads a team committed to providing the respect, dignity, and attentiveness every senior deserves.
With only eight residents, we slow down, listen, and truly customize care. Your loved one is known by name, personality, preferences, and history.
